Pitch Data Key

I’ve posted a couple of these Pitch by Pitch tables, but I haven’t posted a full key on how to read them, so here it is.

Now there are a couple of problems with this code system:

1) Duplication- There are a couple of codes that essentially express the same thing.

2) Line Drives- I don’t have separate codes for line-drives or pop-ups. Therefore anything that’s a line drive or a pop up is generically classified as a “fly ball.” This is an issue I’m going to have to go back and fix when I have time.

In the next few days, I’ll try to put up all the tables for all the Yankee starts so far this season, and then daily I’ll update as each game is concluded.
